Virginia man convicted of second degree murder

Alexander Picott Cleveland, 23, Capeville

A 23-year-old Virginia man has been convicted in connection with a murder that happened last year.

Alexander Picott Cleveland was convicted of second degree murder and other charges. Officials say that during the two day trial the defense called cleveland's father and other family members.

Cleveland was charged after authorities responded to a call of multiple victims shot at a party near Frederick Douglass Road in June of 2016.

Cleveland shot three people and fled before authorities arrived. At another home, Cleveland shot a 30 year old who later died from his injuries.
