UMES had over 400 graduates during their 130th Spring Commencement

One school on the lower eastern shore held their 130th Spring Commencement for the Class of 2017.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore celebrated today at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center.

We are told 440 graduates received diplomas.

47 ABC even spoke to several students before the ceremony.

All of them seemed very excited for the future.

"It feels great to finally be done. A lot of hard work has been put in to reaching this point," Christian Walston says.

The student commencement speaker was Jasmine Brown. She actually auditioned to speak and won. Brown is from Pocomoke City and plans to go into the medical field.
