Summertime ordinances back in effect in Ocean City

The Town of Ocean City is reminding people that multiple summertime ordinances have gone back into effect starting May 1st.

According to town officials, RVs, boat trailers and all oversized vehicles are no longer allowed to park in municipal lots or on public streets. Oversized vehicles are defined as longer than 21 feet and two inches and wider than six feet and eight inches, officials said. Paid trailer parking is allowed at the 100th Street gravel lot. Officials say the daily fee can be paid at on-site pay stations.

Special $50 permits for trailer parking can be obtained for certain events such as OC Bike Fest or Cruisin' Ocean City. Violations of the trailer parking ordinance can result in a $250 fine, Ocean City officials said. The ordinance ends for the year on October 31st.

Officials say dogs are no longer allowed on the beach or on the boardwalk until September 30th.

Ordinances prohibiting sleeping in vehicles and smoking or vaping on the boardwalk and beach remain in effect. To see more detail on Ocean City ordinances, visit the Town of Ocean City website.
