SU students get creative with canned food donations

Salisbury University students decided to have a little fun today while helping the community with their 'You CAN Make a Difference' event.
It's a part of SU's sales programs as students had to come up with a fundraiser. They decided to have student organizations and teams compete by building canned food structures.
After the competition all of the canned food is being donated to HALO, the non-profit that provides programs and services to our local homeless community.
Danielle Merritts is one of the student organizers and tells 47 ABC, "It feels great to help the community. It feels great to bring students together, different organizations together. Everyone seems really happy right now being able to help the community. So that's a good feeling."
They're hoping to make this a yearly event with even more participants next year.
