Sells children continue to recover as the Downing Project continues

47 ABC has an update on the Sells children and the downing project.

Naomi and Aydahnn Sells were victims of a violent attack back on December.

Their mother's boyfriend allegedly attacked them and their mom with a knife and hammer. Airelle Sells passed away six days later.

Valentina Downing is their grandmother and guardian. And the Downing Project hopes to revamp the home for their medical needs.

The Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County crew is working on the addition of the home Friday, May 26, 2017. They hope to cover three-fourths of the siding. So far, the addition has been framed in.

The Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity, Molly Hilligoss, tells us the children are still in recovery and on medicine. It is mainly for their brains continue to recover. We are told they don't want there to be any type of brain seizures that would affect recovery.

The back deck will be placed in the next couple months and they may need volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity tells us throughout the summer, they lack volunteers because many students are on vacation.

They say they need five a day Thursday through Saturday's.
