Seaford man sentenced to 5 years in prison on weapons, drug charges

Eric Correa, 26, of Seaford, Del.

A Seaford man who pleaded guilty to drug and weapons charges will spend five years behind bars, officials with the Delaware Department of Justice announced Friday.

Eric Correa, 26, will face six months of home confinement and then one year of probation following his prison sentence, officials said.

Delaware State Police arrested Correa in Milford in June 2016 when troopers found marijuana, crack cocaine and a loaded .25 caliber handgun in Correa's possession. Based on previous convictions, Correa was prohibited from possessing a firearm, police said.

Department of Justice officials say Correa also faces an additional year behind bars for a violation of probation on a previous assault conviction.
