Screenings offered in response to JTVCC TB scare

Health officials in Delaware say they will offer free screenings for tuberculosis to former inmates, former employees and visitors to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center who may have been exposed to tuberculosis.
This announcement comes after an inmate was diagnosed with TB in early May.
The Delaware Division of Public Health will reach out to former inmates, employees and visitors who are determined to be at risk for the disease. The Department of Correction has also begun screening its employees and current inmates.
So far there have been 10 confirmed cases of TB in Delaware in 2017, officials said. To learn more about TB, visit the Department of Health and Social Services page about the condition.
