Rocking Out Against Addiction event brings awareness to opiate epidemic

In Ocean City, folks made their way to the Alibi Room to rock out against addiction.
It's an event to help raise awareness of the opiate epidemic, hosted by the Worcester County Warriors Against Opiate Addiction and the family of Justin Tippett.
Tippett passed away from an overdose this past October.
His family tells 47 ABC at first they tried to keep it a secret but soon realized by getting the word out and showing the public that it can happen to anyone, they can be a part of the solution.
And that's exactly what happened Sunday.
A Tippett family member, Shannon, tells 47 ABC, "This is affecting every family. The poor, the rich, the middle class, you know, Justin was just a normal guy and we never would've expected something like this to happen. So if we can help one person today get the help that they need then we've done our job."
Some of the proceeds from the event will be going to the Worcester Warriors to help a community member get the treatment they need.
