Police arrest Maryland man on child porn charges

Maryland State Police have arrested a Caroline County man on child pornography charges.
 
Authorities say 30-year-old Alexander Cowell of Greensboro was charged Friday with 20 counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of distribution of child pornography.
 
Cowell's arrest follows an investigation that began in March when the authorities were alerted to a person downloading child pornography online.
 
The investigation led police to Cowell's residence, where police recovered computer equipment belonging to him.
 
Authorities say a preliminary forensic review at the scene indicated the presence of multiple video files of child pornography.
