Milford man facing assault and strangulation charges

A Milford man was arrested last week in connection to a reported assault and strangulation that happened in late April.

Officials say on April 28th, officers with the Milford Police Department responded to a physical altercation at the Silver Lake Estates Apartments. John G. Harmon Jr., 21, was accused by people at the scene of striking the victim in the face and strangling them before fleeing.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, police said.

Police say Harmon had been banned from the property and did not have permission to be there.

Police obtained warrants for Harmon and he was arrested and charged on May 15th. He faces charges of second degree assault, strangulation, endangering the welfare of a child and third degree criminal trespassing.

He was ordered to be held on a bail of $8,250 unsecured and was given a no contact order with the victims.
