Man rescued from sailboat taking water 10 miles southwest of Tangier Island

A Coast Guard crew rescued a man aboard a sailboat that was taking water Tuesday morning in the Chesapeake Bay approximately 10 miles southwest of Tangier Island, officials said.
Coast Guard members at the Milford Haven station on the western shore received an alert that the sailboat Sweet Revenge had struck a submerged object in stormy weather and was taking on water.
Officials say a response boat and helicopter crew were dispatched to locate the sailor. Conditions were reported as two-foot seas and 20 knot winds at the distress call's location.
Upon finding the sailboat, the boat crew reported that the man was showing signs of disorientation and fatigue. He was transported safely to shore at Station Milford Haven, officials said.
The man has arranged for the sailboat to be commercially salvaged, the Coast Guard reports.
