Homicide investigation underway after fatal shooting inside Dover apartment

Delaware State Police are initiating a homicide investigation at the Alder Park Apartments in Dover after a 44-year-old man was found dead in his apartment.

At around 2:35 AM Wednesday, police say multiple 911 calls were made reporting gunshots inside the B building of the apartment complex. Officials say Dover Police officers, state troopers and EMS technicians responded to the scene where they located a man inside his apartment suffering from several gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.

The victim's name will be released after his next of kin is notified, police said.
