Harbeson man pleads guilty in connection with the death of his son

A Sussex County man pleaded guilty to murder in connection with the death of his infant son on Monday morning.

According to Delaware Department of Justice officials, 34-year-old Doyle Hundley pleaded guilty to murder by neglect first degree for his involvement in the 2015 death of his infant son Aiden.

Hundley and Aiden's mother Casey Layton took care of the baby. In May 2015, Hundley and Layton called 911 saying their son was unresponsive. An exam found that the baby had multiple injuries and was severely malnourished.

The child reportedly lived on life support for five months before dying in September. Hundley faces 15 years to life in prison. No sentencing date has been set.

Layton will be tried in September.
