Grand opening for Ocean Pines new pickleball courts

Ocean Pines had a grand opening for their newest addition to their Manklin Meadows Racquet Sports Complex.

Eight new pickleball courts are now placed.

Pickleball is a combination of tennis and ping pong that includes up to four people.

The founders of the Ocean Pines Pickleball Club say they had no location to play and it was in a high demand.

And five years later, the Ocean Pines Association Board finally granted them several courts to play on.

One of the founders, Frank Creamer says, "We went through all kinds of different scenarios. We finally got approval from Ocean Pines and the Board of Directors. We had to prove ourselves, we did prove ourselves and this is what they gave us and it turned out wonderful."

They even offered free clinics for all those beginner players.

Along with the grand opening, a free week of pickleball will be offered to the public until June 2nd.
