Fire marshals deem Monday night Salisbury house fire an arson

The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal has determined a Monday evening house fire in Salisbury was an arson.

Shortly before 9 PM, a fire was reported in the 400 block of Winder Street, officials said. Salisbury firefighters responded, taking approximately five minutes to control the blaze.

Investigators say the fire was intentionally set in a second floor bedroom closet. Damages are estimated at approximately $500 to the structure and $500 to the home's contents.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says an arrest is pending.
