Ellendale man pleads guilty to assault in a detention facility

An Ellendale man who allegedly shot two people in Milford last year has pleaded guilty to assault.

According to Delaware Department of Justice officials, Qualeel Wescott, pleaded guilty to assault in a detention facility. He was then immediately sentenced to 30 days in prison.

Wescott, who is accused of shooting two people in a parking lot last May, will face attempted murder charges at his trial on Wednesday.

His trial was originally scheduled for yesterday but it was postponed.
