Dover man to spend 8 years behind bars on drug, weapons charges

A Dover man who pled guilty on charges of drug dealing and carrying a concealed deadly weapon was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by a year of probation, the Delaware Department of Justice announced Friday.
Hakeem Gibson, 21, pled guilty on his charges in March.
In September 2016, Dover Police stopped a car Gibson was riding in and found drugs and weapons, including 10 bags of heroin under the floorboard where Gibson was sitting and a loaded 9mm handgun, officials said.
Department of Justice officials say Deputy Attorney General Greg Babowal secured Gibson's prison sentence.
