Wife who donated kidney to husband encourages Salisbury’s 2017 Kidney Walk

The 2017 Kidney Walk in Salisbury marks its 10th year and 47 ABC sat down with a donor, Kim Butler, who donated her kidney to her husband, Wallace Butler.

Both of the Butler's encourage everyone to come to the Kidney Walk, as they were affected by kidney disease.

Eight years ago, Wallace noticed his feet start to swell and after heading to the doctor, they realized the hardening of his kidney.

Wallace tells us that after receiving his kidney, his vital signs were already looking better.

Both encourage those to attend the upcoming walk in May in order to raise money for kidney awareness and to promote more donors, as it can be life changing.

"It's a gift, that's a lifetime gift," Kim tells 47 ABC about donating a kidney.

Wallace says, "It's just a great thing, encourage people to give a life to another person you know, it's really affectful."
