UPDATE: Police identify victim found dead in Eden backyard

UPDATE: Maryland State Police have identified the victim found in Eden as 22-year-old Walter Whitehead of Salisbury.

Investigators say the cause of death is still yet to be determined pending results of an autopsy.

Investigators reportedly do not believe Whitehead's death was from a random act of violence.

Maryland State Police say homicide investigators responded to a report of a body found Friday morning in Eden.

Investigators arrived to the scene in the 32,000 block of Flower Hill Church Road shortly before 7 AM, officials said.

A neighbor reportedly saw a body lying in a backyard and called 9-1-1. Officials say the body will be transported to Baltimore for an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Troopers say the investigation is ongoing.
