UPDATE: Pedestrian identified in fatal Felton crash

UPDATE: Delaware State Police have identified the fatally-struck pedestrian as John A. Miller, 50, of Felton.

Police are continuing their investigation into to the crash, officials said.

9 a.m.: Officials are investigating a fatal car crash that happened early Monday morning in Kent County.

Around 1 a.m.,  Delaware State Police responded to South DuPont Highway north of  Memorial Avenue in Felton where a 2000 Volkswagen Golf collided with a man walking in the roadway , officials said.

Delaware State Police say that the pedestrian was hit by the front right bumper of the VW and was thrown into the windshield of the car before rolling onto the roadway.

Police say the female driver was able to come to a complete stop and was uninjured.

Officials are with holding the victims name until next of kin has been notified.
