UPDATE: Bennett student convicted on assault charges for staff member attack

UPDATE: On Wednesday evening a jury found Daquan Parks guilty of first and second degree assault and disorderly conduct for striking an assistant principal at James. M. Bennett High School in December.
He was found not guilty on an assault charge for striking the school's principal. The state's attorney's office is reportedly satisfied with the results.
Parks, 16, had been charged as an adult.

A jury is actively deliberating in the case of a James M. Bennett High School student who is accused of injuring two school staff members in December.
A verdict is expected sometime Wednesday evening.
Daquan Parks, 16, is charged as an adult with first and second degree assault and disorderly conduct for reportedly striking a Bennett High School assistant principal, knocking her over and strangling her.
Officials say the school's principal intervened and was also punched and knocked to the ground. Both the principal and assistant principal suffered injuries, police said.
