SU students honor Earth Week

Monday morning, students kicked off  Earth Week activities.

Salisbury University students showcased innovative ways to use cleaner energy. Students set up a solar powered oven to cook eggs and s'mores,  as well as made smoothies using a bike-powered blender.

Students say activities like these help give a different perspective on renewable energy.

"The main purpose of all this is to raise environmental awareness. I think our generation is pretty good about that, so I want to keep us motivated to focus on environmental issues because I worry as we get older we start to lose interest in it," says Kobi Azoulay, the Vice President of Sustainability for the Student Government Association.

Students also tell us they are also working to convince university officials to move away from fossils fuels by 2025.
