Reactions on Salisbury’s March for Transparency

On April 15, 2017, a push was made for President Trump to release his tax returns.

It was called the March for Transparency. Tax Day usually falls on April 15th and that's why the organizer, Mike Mathers, held the event on this day.

It started and ended at the Wicomico County District Court, with community members holding signs and chanting for about a mile.

Mathers tells 47 ABC that once the walk was over, they wrote post cards to congressman Andy Harris demanding an investigation on Trump's tax returns.

"We want him to know and we want the government to generally know that this really is an issue that matters to the people on the Eastern Shore," Mathers says.

47 ABC also reached out to the Wicomico County Republican Club for their reaction on the March for Transparency.

We spoke to their newly elected president, Shawn Bradley, as he feels President Trump is not trying to hide anything.

Bradley says he does not see the relevance on what the march is doing, adding he doesn't understand how this would affect how Trump runs our country.

We are told, despite our political affiliation, we need to stand united and to face the issues that our country is dealing with.

Bradley also adds, the last Monday of April, a meeting will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, as he will continue to spread the word for our community to stand together.
