Police: Serious motorcycle-car crash injures one

Delaware State Police are investigating after they say a car crash involving a motorcycle hurt a 72-year-old man Saturday morning.
Police say the crash happened around 10:20 a.m. when a 72-year-old man was operating a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Newton Road. We're told he was negotiating a slight right curve just east of Adams Road when a 2012 Cadillac CTS was traveling westbound on Newton Road approaching the motorcycle.
For unknown reasons, police say the motorcycle crossed the center line of the road and struck the left side of the Cadillac in the west bound lane.
After impact, the motorcyclist and motorcycle slid on the left side and came to a stop in the westbound lane.
The Cadillac came to a controlled stop on the westbound shoulder, just east of Adams Road.
Police say the 72-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and airlifted to Christiana Medical Center, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Cadillac and his adult male passenger were properly restrained and uninjured.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this case for either driver.
