Parole hearing held for Sussex County man convicted of murder

A Lewes mother went before a parole board on Tuesday to keep her son's murderer behind bars.

Peggy Brockaway's son Dougie was murdered back in 1987. The convicted murderer is Ransford Bryan, Dougie's friend at the time. Dougie and Bryan went squirrel hunting in the woods but that evening Bryan came home without Dougie.

Three weeks later hunters found Dougie's body in the woods. Bryan is serving a life sentence but he is up for parole again even though Dougie's mother started a petition against the parole.

A decision is set to be made on whether the parole was granted in the coming days.
