Officials: Fire service agreement based on a negotiated fee for service schedule

The recent fire service agreement between the city of Salisbury and Wicomico County is based on a negotiated fee for service schedule, instead of a negotiated stipend basis.
Wicomico County says the agreement does not differentiate between paid and volunteer staff.
The county also says that the idea that the county has stopped funding the volunteers is false since both paid and volunteer fire fighters in the city are under the direction of the fire chief and mayor as shown in the city charter.
