Monday Memo – April 3, 2017
MONDAY MEMO
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 3 APRIL 2017
STATION SECURITY

Station security is one of those responsibilities we all share. Desmond Chapman, shown here, attempted to gain access to our building on Friday, banging the pole he was carrying against the building and yelling something about libel, slander and wanting to talk to our legal department. He is believed to be homeless and is obviously unstable. The police were notified and the Chief alerted her downtown officers to conduct extra patrol checks and make contact with him. If you see him in the area of the Station, notify your supervisor or myself and do not engage him.
47 ABC WELCOMES KEVIN BRUMMELL TO OUR TEAM

Kevin Brummell joined our Master Control Team as a part time Operator on Friday. He is a recent graduate of the American Broadcasting School and brings with him a wide range of skills including hands-on producer, project management and editor. In addition, he has experience with Final Cut Pro and Avid as well as general computer skills. Please join me in welcoming him to our Team
IT FINALLY FEELS LIKE TIME TO CELEBRATE THE CHANGE OF SEASON!
• It finally feels like Spring time, complete with the proverbial spring showers. To help celebrate the season and involve our viewers, we launched a new weather promo on Saturday: WMDT WeatherPicsJaisol 15. All of you can send in pictures and our Weather Team will use them as time allows. In advance, thank you if you can.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY

On 22 March, Julian Sadur and Daniel Johnson attended the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce 10th Annual Career Day at Salisbury University. The event was for high school freshmen, to provide them with an idea of what they might want to do for their careers. Over thirty-one career fields were represented. The students enjoyed a glimpse at the lives of a Broadcast Reporter and a Meteorologist.
• Wednesday evening, I will serve on the YEA! Investor Panel for high school students at the Perdue School of Business.
• Starting at 8AM Saturday morning, I will be among the volunteers at “Stop Hunger Now” held at the Crown Sports Center in Salisbury. We will bag 20,000 nutritious meals for those in need.
AROUND THE STATION
• Wednesday will be Dumpster Day to get rid of debris from recent work. If there is something in your office that needs to go, advise Drew and see that it is placed in the hallway first thing Wednesday morning.
