OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
• Tomorrow evening, I will represent our Stations at the DPI Annual Banquet at the WYCC
• Wednesday at 3:30, I will be attending the MAC ribbon cutting
• Thursday morning beginning at 8AM, Linda DiGrazio, Emily Lampa, Daniel Johnson, Sarah Truitt, Greg LaFrance, Teri Monahan, Phil Bankert and I will be attending the Light of Literacy breakfast at the WYCC beginning at 8AM. Emily and Daniel will be announcing the awards and I will offer brief remarks about the Station’s commitment to literacy. We have a promotional table at the event where we will have a box to collect books for early childhood reading opportunities. From 20 April through 20 May, the Station will serve as a drop off point for the book drive. A box will be placed in the Lobby (as soon as it comes back from the Light of Literacy breakfast on Thursday). If you have books your children have outgrown, this would be a great place to give them a new home. They are especially looking for early childhood books, but they will find an appropriate site for any donated book. If you don’t have any to donate, but would like to be part of the program, Ollie’s has a wide selection of book in the $2 – $3 range. Books with stickers or craft components are not appropriate since the books will be read by a variety of children. Until we get the box, you can leave books on the round table in my office.
• Thursday evening, I will attend the Salisbury Annual Chamber Awards Banquet at Dove Pointe
• Friday is the Big Brothers/Big Sisters ribbon cutting (4:30) and then the first Third Friday of the season starting at 5PM. Hope to see many of you there!
