Hundreds of rapes reported in the first state in 2015

Delaware health officials say that 137 rapes were reported in the state in 2015.

It is also estimated that rape is about three times more likely to occur in minority populations. Officials recently held a conference for sexual assault awareness month where they discussed prevention efforts and treatment.

Victims of rape are encouraged to report it to a trusted friend, adult or law enforcement.
