Delaware Department of Correction and National Guard hold emergency preparedness meeting

The Delaware Department of Correction recently held a meeting with the Delaware National Guard to discuss emergency preparedness, officials said.

Officials say that the Department of Correction regularly looks at ways to prepare for a varity of situations and that the conversations have been focused on safe and efficient ways to respond in the event of an emergency.

Despite the Correctional Officers Association of Delaware's warnings about a staffing crisis at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, there are currently no immediate plans for the National Guard to begin working at JTVCC.
