COAD eying retirement plan, hosting special member meeting

A Delaware union for correctional officers is holding another special membership meeting on Tuesday night.
The Correctional Officers Association of Delaware ('COAD') says they are working to secure a 20 year retirement and plan.
In a press release, officials say they have requested the State of Delaware to open the current collective bargaining agreement. The purpose of this is to bring additional staffing to facilities, which they claim will add safety and security if certain proposals are adopted.
According to COAD, the Union and the state of Delaware are expected to start negotiations in less than two weeks.
The meeting is happening at 6 p.m. at the COAD union hall in Dover.
