19-year-old Marydel man facing child sex abuse charges

Maryland State Police have charged a Caroline County man with child sex abuse and distribution and possession of child pornography in an investigation involving authorities in three states.
 
Nineteen-year-old Casey Merriman of Marydel is charged with distribution and possession of child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor, assault and other crimes. He is being held without bond.
 
The investigation began in October when Maryland authorities received a tip regarding child pornography. Investigators later learned that the man had temporarily moved to Texas, where a search warrant was executed. Authorities say a search of Merriman's Marydel residence found child pornography.
 
Investigators say they also learned that Merriman had sexual contact with three children in Maryland over a long period of time, and that he had inappropriately touched other children in Delaware.
