Wico. Co. celebrates Read Across America Day

Saturday morning in Salisbury,  children got to interact with a few characters from their favorite books.

This was all part of the Salisbury Jaycees' annual Read Across America event. The purpose of this nationwide event is to promote literacy.

Officials from Wicomico county  read books by Doctor Seuss to children in honor of his birthday.

"I just love seeing all the kids come out and getting  to see the excitement on their face when they get to see the Cat and the Hat," says Kellie Johnson the Secretary for the Salisbury Jaycees.
