The Casino at Ocean Downs celebrates National Pet Day

National Pet Day is April 11th, and a local casino is showing their hand, in an effort to help homeless animals in the area. The Casino at Ocean Downs will be celebrating National Pet Day by collecting donations for the cats and dogs at the Worcester County Humane Society. Donations will be collected on Tuesday, April 11th from 9:00 AM until 11:00 PM.

How the promotion works is player club reward members may bring in a donation of pet supplies or canned or dry pet food to spin the prize wheel for $5, $7 or $10 slot dollars.

“We’re so excited to be able to help the homeless cats and dogs at Worcester County Humane Society,” said Crystal Layton, Casino at Ocean Downs Director of Marketing.  “It’s a great program and our Casino at Ocean Downs players club members can feel good about donating and also win some slot dollars.”

WCHS is a private, nonprofit, no kill animal shelter that depends on fundraising and donations to care for the many animals who find their way to the shelter. The shelter currently houses about 150 cats and 25 dogs.  For updates on events or available pets follow the shelter on Facebook, and Instagram, or visit their website.
