New Castle man arrested on drug charges in Dover

Dover Police that a New Castle man was arrested on drug and gun offense charges after a traffic stop on Friday night.
Officers say that around 10 p.m, 24-year-old Brandon Thompson was stopped at South Dupont Highway and Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard for an equipment violation.
Officers smelled marijuana coming from the car and they reportedly saw a handgun. They then took Thompson into custody.
A search of the car allegedly found 13.2 grams of marijuana, 035 grams of heroin and 4.2 grams of ecstasy. Thompson was released on $2,310 dollars bond on drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance (Tier one quantity-MDMA), possession of heroin, possession of firearm by person prohibited, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony charges.
