Neighbor: “It’s just terrible, it is.” on three shootings reported in 30 hours

State, county, and city law enforcement agencies are now investigating three shootings in Salisbury in as many days.
Details still remain limited on these cases; however, some neighbors 47ABC spoke to are understandably on edge.
"One minute you're happy. The next minute, you're shooting. That's just how sad situations can be," says one resident on East Road.
The Salisbury resident did not want to be identified on camera, but tells 47 ABC she was within earshot when police say a victim identified as Troy Smiley, 34, was shot by an unknown suspect on East Road around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Maryland State Police confirm the shooting happened outside of the West Road apartment complex, which sits across the street from Salisbury Middle School.
"Nobody wants to walk by being an innocent bystander, you understand? Like you see, I walk to the store, you know what I mean?" says the resident. "I don't want no child just being out here playing with a ball or putting a bike up and get shot, you know what I mean?"
Authorities say Smiley was first transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center ('PRMC') in Salisbury but later flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.
The East Road incident is not the only active shooting investigation currently being handled by law enforcement.
The first shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night near the 1000 block of Beaglin Drive. According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, the male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The second incident on Monday night on East Road is being handled the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack.
The third and most recent incident happened early Tuesday morning on the 500 block Emory Court around 1 a.m. The Salisbury Police have jurisdiction over this case.
In a press release sent Tuesday morning, Captain Rich Kaiser says a 28-year-old man was shot in the neck after reportedly giving the suspect a ride who flagged him down near Middleneck Drive. The victim was first transported to PRMC before he was transferred to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
When asked, Salisbury Police told 47ABC on the phone there is currently no evidence to show the two most recent shootings are related.
All three cases are open and active. Authorities are asking those with information to come forward.
