Millsboro barn fire leaves four horses dead

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a barn fire that happened early Wednesday morning in Millsboro and left four horses dead.
Shortly before 3 AM, firefighters with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded to a report of a livestock building on fire in the 24000 block of Cannon Road. After the blaze was controlled, fire investigators began looking for the cause of the fire.
By Wednesday afternoon, fire marshals say they determined that the fire was accidental and caused by a heat lamp igniting combustible material inside the structure.
While no people were injured, four horses reportedly died in the fire. Fire marshals estimate the fire's damages at $50,000.
