Fire marshals investigating Fruitland house fire

The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a Wednesday house fire in Fruitland that required more than 50 firefighters to put out.

Fire officials confirmed that the fire happened around 4 PM in the 4000 block of Meadowbridge Road. It took approximately 90 minutes for the fire to be controlled.

Investigators say the fire originated on the home's rear porch. The cause has reportedly not been determined yet.

Officials say damages to the structure are estimated at $180,000 with damage to the home's contents estimated at $70,000.
