DSP: Dover couple arrested after heroin found hidden in woman’s pants

Ginna M. Grocki, 32, and Charles W. Pernot III, 42, of Dover, Del.

Delaware State Police say a Dover couple was arrested last Thursday when troopers and probation officers with the Kent County Governor's Task Force found heroin during a traffic stop.

Troopers and the probation officers pulled over a Hyundai Sonata just south of Smyrna at around 4:25 PM last Thursday. The driver, 32-year-old Ginna M. Grocki was found to be driving on a suspended license and she, along with passenger Charles W. Pernot III, 42, was found to be on probation.

Officers reportedly asked the two to get out of the car and upon Grocki's exit, officers say they observed a large bulge in the front of her pants. Police reportedly asked if she was hiding drugs in her pants–she denied it. As their questioning continued, police say Grocki eventually gave up and removed a plastic bag from her pants containing 338 baggies of heroin. A female trooper later searched Grocki, finding three more bags in her bra and six more in her purse.

Both Grocki and Pernot were arrested and transported to Troop 3 to be charged.

Grocki is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, hindering prosecution, second degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. Once that female trooper found the additional bags, she was charged with additional possession charges. She has been committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on a secured bond of $55,500.

Pernot is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $52,500 secured bond.
