ACLU visits SU to discuss Trump’s new travel ban

Salisbury University hosted a discussion about the travel ban Monday evening. Representatives from the American Civil Liberties Union were there to answer questions.
It was a packed house at SU's Conway Hall and most questions were about the latest travel ban. Although, some students asked about the rights people have when it comes to Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids
Sonia Kumar is an attorney for the ACLU of Maryland and is currently an attorney on IRAP vs. Trump, a Maryland lawsuit challenging the travel ban.
Kumar tells 47 ABC the new ban won't change the ACLU's opinion on the ban breaking constitutional rights.
She says," After reviewing the ban we feel it isn't materially different from the original ban. Maybe some tinkering around the edges but fundamentally it still reflects discrimination that affects a huge number of people and so our plans are to continue to challenge it in court."
Komar says the only way to fix the travel ban is to not have one and that's by taking legal action against it. She adds the ACLU doesn't plan on stopping their efforts anytime soon.
