UMES Black History Month Exhibition opens

The University of Maryland Eastern's Shore's Black History Month Exhibit opened February 2, 2017.

The exhibition was called "Women of Color Working in Color".

This will be open until March, as February is Black History Month and March hosts Women's History Month.

UMES searched for contemporary artists working with color across the country and  they will feature six artists.

One artist is the great grandaughter of Thomas Henry Kiah, as her great grandfather was the fifth and longest-serving president of UMES.

The artist, Stephanie Kiah says she is inspired to show the beautiful aspects of being a women of color, as well as highlighting things happening in current day America.

The Mosley Gallery will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. until March 16th, 2017.
