Trial date postponed for man accused of killing his wife with a hammer

The trial date for a Delaware man accused of killing his wife with a hammer in January 2015 and running off with their children to Indiana has been postponed.

The decision comes at the request of the defense. The prosecution did not object because Hamilton reportedly waived his right to a speedy trial.

The new date is tentatively set as September 11, 2017, Department of Justice officials said.

After the killing of Keisha Hamilton two years ago, her children were found in good condition.

Cortez Hamilton was extradited back to Delaware from Indiana to face murder charges.

Keisha Hamilton's body has still not been found.
