Traffic stop yields 139 grams of Crystal Meth

Georgetown Police have arrested three Virginia men after they were found to be in possession of drugs during a traffic stop.

According to Georgetown PD, the traffic stop occurred Tuesday, January 31 around 10:30 a.m., as Georgetown Police were patrolling Dupont Blvd. Georgetown Officers say they noticed a silver in color Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Route 13 commit a traffic violation. According to Police, neither the driver, nor any of the passengers in the car possessed a valid driver's license. Officers also learned that the car was a rental vehicle in which none of the occupants were permitted to operate. Prior to towing the silver Camry, an search of the vehicle found approximately 139 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine located in the trunk. The driver and both passengers were then reportedly taken into custody and transported to the Georgetown Police Department.

The operator of the silver Camry, 30-year-old Lavel Cherry of Norfolk, Virginia was arrested for Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity. Conspiracy 2nd degree, Driving with a valid license and Inattentive Driving. Cherry was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $51,200 secured bond.

31-year-old Reenato Mizzell of Suffolk, Virginia was arrested for Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity and Conspiracy 2nd degree. Mizzell was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $51,000 secured bond.
 
30-year-old Keithel Reid of Norfolk, Virginia was arrested for Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity and Conspiracy 2nd degree. Reid was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $51,000 secured bond.
