Salisbury mayor appoints new city administrator

Salisbury Mayor Jake Day announced Wednesday that Julia Glanz will serve as Salisbury's new city administrator.
The Salisbury City Council unanimously approved Glanz's appointment to the position Tuesday night in a closed session.
City officials say Glanz was chosen from a pool of almost 30 applicants. She has worked for the city since April 2015 and had been serving as Acting City Administrator since December 2016.
"It is an honor and a privilege to stand before you today as your new city administrator," Glanz said in a press conference Wednesday morning. "Being able to improve our community, and especially the community that I call home, is an absolute honor."
Glanz graduated from Salisbury University with an undergraduate degree in business management and a masters degree in conflict analysis and dispute resolution. She previously worked for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees representing Maryland state employees, city officials said.
