Rep. Harris holds first of two tele-town hall meetings

Maryland Rep. Andy Harris hosted a town hall meeting Monday evening with his constituents here on the Eastern Shore via telephone.
This was the Republican Congressman's first of two tele-town hall meetings this week.
Monday night, a number of folks called in to ask questions, the majority of which were about the Affordable Care Act.
A number of callers asked Harris to explain his stance on healthcare coverage of preexisting conditions, which he said he will support as well as lower premiums.
Some folks who would have preferred an in-person town hall went so far as to call the tele-town hall a disgrace.
But Harris defended his decision by saying, "In the tele-town hall last week we had about 4, 500 people participate in that town hall and listen to their Congressman and had a wide range of questions. I actually go through the list of questions and try to do them mostly in time order but I also take out actually a lot of them that most people would disagree with me on."
Harris is holding another tele-town hall meeting tomorrow at 6 p.m.
