PRMC President/CEO designate Steven Leonard speaks with media

Steven Leonard, president/ceo designate for PRMC

The man tapped to become the next president and CEO of Peninsula Regional Medical Center spoke with media Thursday, discussing his plans for the future of the facility.

Steven Leonard will officially take over January 4,  2018 after Dr. Peggy Naleppa retires.

Currently, Leonard is the Vice President of Operations, Optimization and Innovation at the hospital.

In that role he administratively oversees the operations of  PRMC's cancer institute, surgical services and more.

Leonard said he was excited about the prospects PRMC's future holds.

"So when I think about what were able to potentially accomplish, I think about performance at that level and when I look at the health system here there's nothing to preclude us from providing best quality, safety, service; have the best environment for the team here that ranks nationally with leading organizations. I've seen them, been trained in the process and I think it's possible here," Leonard said.

Between now and next year Leonard will work with Naleppa on an executive leadership succession plan that has been established to ensure a smooth transition.
