Princess Anne woman succumbs to injuries from mobile home propane explosion

Updated Feb. 7: The Office of the State Fire Marshal has confirmed that a woman who was injured in a mobile home fire has died.
Peggy Jean Merritt, 66, was trapped in her mobile home when a propane leak ignited, causing an explosion.
Marshals say they have ruled the fire as accidental.

Original post: The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire in Princess Anne on Thursday that significantly damaged a mobile home and left a woman in critical condition.
At around 6:21 PM, Princess Anne Volunteer Firefighters responded to reports of a blaze in the 31000 block of Dublin Road.
Officials say firefighters learned a woman was trapped inside and promptly rescued her from the structure.
The woman was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she is still listed in stable but critical condition, fire marshals said.
Officials report it took around 25 firefighters to bring the fire under control. Damages are reportedly estimated at $60,000.
Fire marshals say they determined the fire started in the open living room and kitchen area. The investigation to what caused the fire continues.
