Pa. man arrested for two Ocean City armed robberies

The Ocean City Police Department says a Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with two armed robberies that happened last month.
Police say the first robbery happened at around 10 PM on January 28th in a parking lot on 79th Street and Coastal Highway. The second robbery allegedly happened only 30 minutes later at a municipal bus stop at 138th Street and Coastal Highway.
Victims in both robberies gave the same suspect descriptions, police said. Victims were threatened with a silver handgun in both incidents.
An investigation by OCPD detectives led them to identify 18-year-old Christopher Jones-RIvera of Elizabethtown, Pa. as the suspect in the robberies.
Jones-Rivera is charged with three counts for each of the following charges: armed robbery, using a firearm while committing a violent felony, first-degree assault, second-degree assault. He also faces two counts of theft under $1,000.
OCPD says he was taken into custody on Wednesday in Elizabethtown and is currently being held in Lancaster County Prison while awaiting his extradition to Maryland.
His bail was set at $250,000.
