Overturned tractor trailer in Delaware

Power is restored to all customers in Hartly, Delaware after a tractor trailer reportedly overturned and knocked out a utility pole.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

A Delaware State Police spokesperson tells 47 ABC that a U.S. mail truck tipped over, when maneuvering a turn at the intersection of Main Street and Slaughter Station Road.

There were two people in the cab.

We're told the passenger was able to get out on his own.

Emergency responders had to extract the driver.

But their injuries were not severe.

Because the utility pole snapped, we're told power lines were hanging in the roadway.

Delmarva Power is replacing that pole and still working to restore power to all customers in the town.

47 ABC spoke with a witness who lives on Main Street.

He said that accidents are common at this intersection because of a sharp corner and limited signage warning drivers.
