New Jersey man arrested in Harrington for trafficking almost 100 cartons of cigarettes

Police in Harrington say they have arrested a New Jersey man after finding almost 100 cartons of illegal cigarettes during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
At around 3:00 PM, police say they stopped 57-year-old Edwin Schley on South DuPont Highway in the area of Gordon Street, for speeding.
After speaking with Schley, officers reportedly requested the K-9 unit to conduct a narcotics scan Schley's vehicle.
The K-9 unit reportedly detected narcotics which promoted officers to search the vehicle. During the search police say they found over $4,000 and 99 cartons of untaxed cigarettes.
Schley was arrested and is being charged with attempt to evade or defeat tax, possession of untaxed tobacco products, and speeding.
He was later released on $551 unsecured bond.
